Adult Withdrawal Management Services (WMS)

The 10 bed Withdrawal Management unit provides a medically supervised, secure residence to facilitate the safe withdrawal from alcohol and/or drugs, including prescription drugs.
Facility The Bridge WMS provides 10 medically supported community-based Withdrawal Management beds, for both men and women seeking safe withdrawal from alcohol and/or drugs. Length of stay is typically 7 to 10 nights, depending on the substance the individual is withdrawing from and the treatment plan. Participants will be monitored by a physician and receive 24 hours a daycare by a licensed practical nurse (LPN) and have access to an on-site physician. The Bridge Withdrawal Management Services provides effective and safe withdrawal management services based on best practices and ethical codes of conduct. This program is strictly voluntary and participants are free to leave at any time.

Service:
  • Offers secure, illicit substance-free, live-in environment
  • Physician assessment informs and directs a medical treatment plan
  • Educational group sessions designed to increase understanding of addiction, coping skills, symptom management and community resources

Criteria
Not everyone with substance abuse problems needs to go through a withdrawal management process. Our WMS staff will determine your level of need and immediacy based on a triage system. Participants will be helped to withdraw from substances (including prescription drugs) and alcohol.
Prospective male and female participants will be admitted if:
  • the participant is experiencing alcohol and/or drug toxicity and health complications are probable
  • the participant requests admission
  • the participant is 19 years of age or older
  • the participant is medically stable
