Adult Withdrawal Management Services (WMS)

The detox program provides medically supervised withdrawal management for adults aged 19 and over in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. The program focuses exclusively on the medical aspects of withdrawal, which is why it is short-term in nature.
A medically supervised, secure residence for adults seeking safe withdrawal from alcohol and/or drugs. Length of stay is typically 3 to 7 days, depending on the substance the individual is withdrawing from. Offers 24-hour nursing and access to an on-site physician in a respectful, non-judgmental environment.

Activities may include (All programming is optional):
  • In-house meetings & workshops
  • Virtual recovery meetings
  • Massage therapy provided by students.

The service is free, and self­ referrals are accepted. The program serves individuals living within the Interior Health Region.

Length of Stay (Typical)
  • Opiates: 7 days
  • Alcohol: 7 days
  • Inhalants: 7 days
  • GHB: 10 days
  • Opioid Agonist Therapy transitions: 10 days

Eligibility: Adults aged 19 and over.

Withdrawal management services are provided at no cost. Some medication-related costs may apply. For details, contact the Detox Program Coordinator through the Bridge main office at 250-763-0456.

Referrals & Waitlist: All referrals are managed through Interior Health’s Road to Recovery program via Access Central (See number below).
