Seniors Programs - Westside Health Network Society

Promotes and enhances West Kelowna and Peachland seniors' wellness through volunteerism, educational programs, referral, and social programs.
The Network is volunteer-based and is dedicated to helping seniors access the health and social services that meet their needs. They offer the following programs:
  • Tax clinic: Annual tax preparation for low-income individuals and families. This program runs from March to April.
  • MedWatch: A health service that provides older adults with a record of their current medical information.
  • Happy Hookers: A group of volunteers who knit, crochet, and craft items gifted to the community.
  • Volunteer Visits: Volunteers join seniors for a visit, walk, coffee or activity.
  • Digital Device Tutorial: Volunteer students assist seniors with their devices (computers, tablets, smartphones).
  • Walk n Talk: A free program involving physical fitness (strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance), socializing, and health education. The program runs from September to April and is run by a certified osteofit exercise instructor.
  • Transportation: Volunteers drive seniors to and from medical appointments and errands. The suggested donation round-trip to Kelowna is $30, and West Kelowna is $20.
