H20 Specialty Health Programs

Provided by YMCA of Okanagan

Breathe Well
The YMCA has teamed up with Interior Health to bring you a respiratory rehab and exercise program. Breathe Well is designed specifically for people with mild COPD and other respiratory conditions to exercise in a safe environment with staff supervision.
NOTE: People with moderate to severe COPD should attend the Kelowna General Hospital’s respiratory rehab prior to enrolling in this program.

Healthy Hearts
This program is ideal for anyone who wants to prevent or recover from a cardiac event. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, group stretching, and individualized exercise programming will help you maintain and improve your overall health. Members can feel safe and supported while exercising under the supervision of our qualified staff.

Healthy Hips & Knees
This program is designed specifically for people who are awaiting total hip or knee replacement surgery, or those who have recently had surgery. Individuals who exercise to prepare for surgery have better hospital experiences, fewer complications, and a smoother recovery. Maintaining adequate physical activity post-surgery will also increase the life of your joint replacement. Your individualized program will focus on increasing strength, endurance, flexibility and balance with regular progress assessments.

Mingle Mondays - H2O
This program offers active older adults a great opportunity to meet new people, make friends and socialize with others while enjoying a light snack. This program is free for non-members and no sign-up is necessary. Just drop in and bring a friend!

Senior Health Assessments
This 45-60 minute assessment measures various health indicators that contribute to your overall health and prevent the risk of disease. Tests include blood pressure, cardiovascular health, muscular strength, balance, agility and more!
Join us for a snack and refreshment after your assessment. Open to all!
