Reaching Independence Through Employment (RITE) Program

Supporting Youth aged 15 to 30 with flexible and holistic services to gain the confidence, skills and experience needed to find and sustain meaningful employment.
The Futures for Youth R.I.T.E. (Reaching Independence Through Employment) Program provides a supportive environment for young Canadians aged 15 to 30 to learn life and employability skills, discover their interests, and obtain the training and paid work experience to successfully find and sustain meaningful employment. Youth will be provided with a living allowance during the 6 week workshop series and other supports as needed while gaining the confidence, skills and experience necessary to be successful in employment. The groups are gender sensitive. The program offers:
  • Individual Employment Counselling
  • Group based Workshop Series for 2 weeks
  • Support accessing community and/or Government services
  • Life, Employability and Essential Skills Training
  • Career Decision Making
  • Vocational Assessments
  • Supportive Job Search
  • Up to 8 sessions of Personal Counselling with Registered Counsellor or Psychologist
  • Funding for Occupational Skills Training, Certificates and/or upgrading
  • Paid Work Experience
  • Transportation Supports
  • Job Start Supports such as work wear, tools and/or uniforms


Eligibility: Canadians living in British Columbia who are facing barriers to employment due to having experienced an abuse of power, regardless of if it has been reported or not. Youth between the ages of 15 and 30 (at time of intake)

Intake is done on a continuous basis, so please feel free to refer your clients/yourself anytime. Intake can be done in person, via ZOOM, or over the phone.
