A New Tomorrow - Youth Addiction Treatment Centre

Provided by A New Tomorrow

Provides housing, clinical staffing, and oversight for Youth who use substances.
A New Tomorrow Treatment Solutions is a first of its kind to offer substance use treatment to youth, specifically. It is a 12 week treatment program for youth in need. The staff work together with the youth and family to provide focused wellness plans and consistency to help the youth work towards their treatment goals! Programming consists of:
  • Daily group therapy and psycho-educational groups
  • Mental health and addictions counselling
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Cognitive behavioural therapy
  • Dialectical behaviour therapy
  • Indigenous culture and traditions
  • Multidimensional and multicultural family therapy
  • Daily journaling
  • Art therapy
  • Group physical activity
  • Therapeutic outings (i.e.. nature walks, canoeing, kayaking, field trips)
  • Participation in step programs (Wellbriety, AlAnon, AA/NA, etc.)

Indigenous cultural and traditional practices are woven throughout the program. These include:
  • Medicine wheel teachings
  • Smudging
  • Spiritual prayer
  • Family genealogy
  • Crafts
  • Traditional medicine gathering
  • Sweat lodge
  • Guest speakers

The beds are funded entirely by Interior Health. There is no cost to you aside from personal needs.

Applications are accepted for youth in the Interior Health region ages 12 to 18. Prior to coming to the treatment centre, the youth is required to be free from substance for 7-10 days. Assistance can be given to achieve this portion of recovery.

Anyone can apply - the youth, guardians/parents, doctors, psychiatrists, counsellors, etc. The youth who is to participate in treatment must give consent to the application . Forced treatment is not an option. Please access the Youth Application Form. As there are limited beds, intake is not guaranteed. If a bed is available and the application is accepted, further connections and arrangements will be made.
