Red Fish Healing Centre for Mental Health and Addiction

Provided by Provincial Health Services Authority

A centre for mental health and addiction treatment.
A 105-bed facility treats people across the province who live with the most severe, complex substance use and mental health issues. The centre provides recovery and healing space through a new, evidence-based model of care that prioritizes trauma-informed practice, dignity, therapeutics spaces and programs, and virtual health care.

The Red Fish Healing Centre for Mental Health and Addiction, which replaces the Burnaby Centre for Mental Health and Addiction, is for people who live with complex and severe concurrent disorders. For admission, clients must have both a complex mental illness and substance use disorder. The program is designed for people who have experienced several relapses, and whose treatment needs are beyond what their local community health resources or health authority can meet. They offer treatment for both voluntary and involuntary (certified under B.C.'s Mental Health Act) clients. They accept clients who are on probation, as well as clients who are using methadone or Suboxone.
