Youth Counselling
- We offer generalized, solution based counselling for youth ages 12-24 living in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Westbank, Lake Country and Peachland.
- Drop-in sessions available Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (10:00am to 7:00pm on Thursdays). Walk in, no appointments.
- Over the phone and virtual sessions can be arranged.
Peer Support (by appointment):
- Our team provide emotional support, encouragement, validation and help you build confidence and trust.
- Less formal and less clinical than counselling, centered in personal connection.
- Weekly youth groups also available: Tuesdays with Peers - Still active, every Tuesday from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. For youth ages 16 to 24. Engage in different activities every week (baking, boardgames, movies, crafts, video games, etc).
Foundry Works and Education:
- We offer one on one support for youth wanting to access post secondary education or looking for employment.
- This is for youth ages 16 to 24 who are experiencing barriers to education/employment, such as mental health or substance use concerns, disability, etc.
- Our team supports youth by providing guidance, knowledge and skill building.
- Our Employment Specialists also run a weekly drop-in session called "Build your Future Toolkit" where clients can come to get guidance, tips, work on their resume, talk about budgeting and job searches, etc. Drop in any Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. All youth ages 16 and up are welcome.
- Registration, referral and appointment needed (there is waitlist for this service).
Primary Care:
- Please note Foundry Kelowna is not a walk-in clinic (the only walk-in service we offer is counselling, not primary care). We focus on mental health and substance use related concerns and our service is limited to clients ages 12 to 24 that do not have a family doctor or nurse practitioner. We also provide sexual health education and STI testing for youth ages 12 to 24.
- If looking for support with assessments, forms, x-rays, checkups, medication refills, we encourage you to visit a walk-in clinic or urgent primary care centre.
- If living outside of this catchment area, youth can access Foundry BC (virtual services, download the Foundry BC app).
Family Navigation:
- We offer one on one support for caregivers that have a youth under 25 years old that is struggling with mental health or substance use related concerns.
- This is a type of support for caregivers (not youth) living in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Westbank, Lake Country and Peachland.
- Family Navigators can provide clients with the tools, knowledge and resources they need to better communicate with and support their youth.
- Our Family Navigators run a caregiver support group once a month every second Thursday of the month.
Additional:
- We provide free harm reduction supplies for youth ages 12 to 24.
- We have an HPV Vaccine Clinic for youth to access on a drop in basis (available once a month, on the 4th Friday of every month).
- The Canadian Mental Health Association now offers free counselling for adults ages 25 and over as well as family counselling. Please call to inquire. Dial: 250-861-3644 Ext. 1.
