Central Okanagan

Paediatric counselling services at Shine are play based and neurodiversity affirming, with new clients ages 3 - 10 welcome! Counselling may help to support each child with the following:

• Autism
• ADHD
• Anxiety
• Trauma
• Depression
• Kindergarten transition and other big life transitions

Shine paediatric physiotherapy supports many paediatric conditions through techniques including a mixture of therapy toys and the child's toys. Physiotherapy will look different depending on the condition and child/family goals, with everything individualized to suit each child. Paediatric conditions that are treated include:

• Autism
• Juvenile arthritis
• Developmental delay
• Children's chronic pain
• Osteogenesis imperfecta
• Ehlers-Danlos syndrome
• Children's metabolic disorders
• Infant head shape abnormalities/ head turn preferences (torticollis and plagiocephaly)
• Cerebral palsy, SMA, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and any other pediatric neurological condition
• Down syndrome, Rett syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome and other genetic conditions (both common and rare ones)
• Orthopedic conditions such as Perthes disease, developmental dysplasia of the hip, talipes equinovarus, limb differences and others

Shine also offers paediatric occupational therapy for those aged 0-19 years, providing support for children and their families through building strong relationships, and using play-based therapy to reach their goals. Play therapy assists kids with sensory processing goals, emotional regulation, fine motor skills, routine building, and more!

All services are private pay unless accessing AHP or Autism Funding, and range from $145.00 - $160.00 depending on in-clinic versus home visits where available (+travel fee outside of Central Okanagan).
Please Note: home visits are available for children's physiotherapy sessions in the Central Okanagan, but not for counselling at this time.
