Abuse Survivors Support Services

Provided by Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society

Provides various programs to support survivors of abuse in the Central Okanagan.
The following programs are offered:
  • Community Based Victim Services: Provides multiple services for adult and youth survivors of intimate partner abuse, as well as services for adult, youth and child survivors of sexual abuse, assault and exploitation.
  • Sexual Assault Counselling: Counsellors provide trauma therapy for adult, youth, and child survivors of sexual assault, abuse, and exploitation. Individual and group therapy options are available.
  • Indigenous Victim Services: Support workers provide trauma-informed practice in the context of emotional support, practical support, and more.
  • Youth Prevention Programs: The United program is an 8-week psycho-educational program implemented through middle and high schools in the Central Okanagan. The program works with students to discuss subjects pertaining to identity, personal growth, safety, maintaining healthy personal boundaries and more.
  • COEFS Peer Support: A safe place to share your story, struggles and successes, and to listen to others as they share similar experiences. You can get a sense of belonging, information about mental health challenges and resources, and most of all, the support of others who have “been there”.

Cost: The initial intake appointment is free. Most of the services are fully funded by donations or government grants; therefore, there is no charge for services. Counselling for adult survivors of sexual abuse is on a ‘pay what you can’ model. However, no one is refused services based on their financial situation.

Access: Call us at (250) 763-4613 to book an intake appointment. Alternately, send an email to info@efryokanagan.com. Another professional is also able to help access services by making a referral.
