Public Health Units offers a variety of services in one location.
  • Early Years: Public Health Nurses (PHNs) assess maternal & newborn health and development, and provide education and ongoing support through early childhood as needed.
  • Child Health Clinics: Global health and development assessments, health information, education and referrals. Immunizations according to the BC Immunization Guide for children at 2, 4, 6, 12, and 18 months, and for 4-6 year olds.

  • A Community Health & Services Centre offers a variety of services in one location. The types of services delivered depend on client needs and on whether comparable services are available nearby. Centres that offer one type of specialized outpatient care procedure (such as eye surgery) are classified based on that service.

    Kelowna Community Health & Services Centre also provides:

  • Air Quality Safety
  • Community Nursing Services and home support
  • Food Safety
  • Rehabilitation
  • Recreational Water Safety
  • Tobacco reduction and control

  • Community Health Centres do not have acute care beds, but may provide: basic laboratory and radiology; urgent care; outpatient ambulatory care; community services; long term residential care services; and/or on-site doctors’ offices.
