Connects individuals with meaningful volunteer opportunities and supports non-profits in the Kootenay region through promotion, training, and recruitment services.
Whether for enjoyment, skill-building, meeting school or community service requirements, or strengthening community connections, Volunteer Kootenays supports individuals in achieving their volunteer goals. A variety of experiences are available, including long-term positions and one-time opportunities.

Volunteer Kootenays helps by:
  • Promoting volunteerism by connecting people with opportunities to serve
  • Building capacity for effective volunteering by offering workshops and training for volunteer managers
  • Offering screening and placement services to meet the needs of the volunteers and organizations
  • Providing leadership on issues related to volunteerism
Volunteer Kootenays links organizations in the region to potential volunteers, supporting recruitment efforts for special events, community festivals, and ongoing volunteer programs by reaching a broader audience.

Membership is open to any volunteer, organization or program in the Kootenays.
