Seniors Contact Program - West Kelowna

This program is for any senior who does not have a caregiver, friend, homemaker, etc. checking or visiting them on a daily basis.
Through the Seniors Contact Program, initiated by the West Kelowna RCMP, seniors who qualify will be contacted by phone daily at a predetermined time between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM, Monday to Friday (excluding holidays). The call will be brief – the intent is to ensure the person is okay (this is not a casual social call).
If contact cannot be made (no answer), the program ensures to try back at least three times over one hour. If there is still no answer, one of the individuals listed as an emergency contact on the application form will be contacted.

Referrals for this program will be taken from agencies and organizations working with seniors or from individuals who are aware of seniors who live alone and might benefit from this program.
Persons referred for this program will be interviewed by a volunteer of the Community Policing Office to determine suitability. Accepted applicants must complete and sign the application/release form.
