Wellness Grants - For individuals with mental illness

Provided by Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) - Kelowna Branch

Provides individual and family grants for fitness, arts & crafts, education, and other wellness activities.
The Wellness Grants Committee (WGC) has been assisting people and their families for more than 15 years, and has now partnered with the YMCA to serve applicants sooner! The Wellness Grants program provides an opportunity for people with a mental illness and financial need to access annual fitness memberships at 3 facilities for no cost. The facilities are:
  • The YMCA in downtown Kelowna
  • The Rutland Family YMCA
  • The H2O Center

Through the Wellness Grants program, CMHA Kelowna works with the YMCA to cover 100% of the membership fee. Grants provide opportunities to participate in activities in the community that support recovery, wellness, and improved quality of life. The Committee has provided Wellness family or individual Grants for activities such as:

- Fitness – gym passes, Tai-chi & karate classes
- Arts & Crafts – pottery courses, music lessons
- Education – Food Safe Certificate, First Aid Certificate, college courses
- Families – funding for summer camps, swimming lessons

To apply for a wellness grant, please complete the Wellness Grants Application Form. Save the .pdf file to your computer, fill in your answers, and then email it back to CMHA Kelowna. Or, stop by their offices and pick up a paper copy. Wellness Grants are reviewed within 1-3 months of the date of submission.
