Okanagan Caregiver Support Program

Provided by Lake Country Health

Offering support services to help people who look after a family or friend with ongoing or chronic health issues such as a stroke, or dementia
Lake Country Health offers you free short-term respite, subsidized counselling, a resource library, and caregiver workshops. Caregivers can bring their loved ones to events or support groups, as we provide supervision and a break.

Programs offered:
  • Caregiver Coffee Group: Provides a space for unpaid caregivers to share resources, practical advice, tips, and support. The caregiver program also offers other supports, including a weekly online exercise, resource library, workshops, counselling, and informal respite care. Serves residents of Lake Country, Vernon, and Kelowna. Office hours are 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • Caregiver Online Exercise Group: Zoom classes are available for caregivers interested in participating in exercise classes.
  • Caregiver Individual Counseling: The Caregiver Support Program works to address the stresses of caregiving by focusing on the caregiver's well-being. Through this initiative, LCHPS offers one-to-one subsidized counselling services and older adults' exercise classes.
