Support Services for Families with FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders)

Community based outreach service designed to enhance protective factors and reduce risk factors for a young person with FASD and build the capacity of their families to provide ongoing nurturing care for their children
Offers assistance with interpreting, coordinating, and implementing assessment recommendations, in-home support services and strategies that help increase the child’s success in the home and community environment, education and consultation services for families and community partners, support with school/educational planning and assistance with accessing community resources and services.

The support services for families operates using a caregiver-driven approach that focuses on the family's individual needs.

Also offers a parent support component that provides caregivers with the opportunity to connect with one another in a supportive group environment. it is a safe place to meet other parents experiencing similar challenges and successes. This service also offers periodic education sessions and distributes a parent connection newsletter.

ARC Programs provides this service in the Central Okanagan and West Kootenay regions.
